San Diego

We've just spent 5 day's with Chris' brother Andrew and his gorgeous wife Rachel.  They live in sunny San Diego where winter is hitting 35 deg Celsius... it's crazy hot!

we drove up to Santa Barbara for 2 nights.  the boys found an awesome surf spot while the girls found a perfect location for sunset cocktails!  we stopped in at a couple of wineries on the way home.  There was a crazy brush fire in the hills behind Santa Barbara on our last night.  the cities power was out and there was ash falling from the sky.  you could see the whole side of the mountain lit up in a blaze.  it was so sad to think of how many people lost their homes... luckily no one was hurt though. 

we're sad to say good bye to Andy and Rach, as we head off to Quito Ecuador tonight, but hopefully they'll make it down for a visit next year.  We've talked a few of their buddies into meeting us for an August 09 ski trip in Argentina.
