our donkeys

getting cosy with dinner... they cooked up a Pachamanca, where they heat up some rocks over a fire, then lay the FRESH lamb and potatoes over the rocks, cover them with more hot rocks and some reeds, herbs etc... 45mins later... super juicey, super tasty roast lamb Andean style!

not a bad campsite...

We took an 8 day trek through the Cordellia Huayhuash, sleeping at around 4000m above sea level each night.. waking up to frozen tent zippers and snow covered camp grounds. Each day we hiked up over 5000m passes, sometimes two per day, and found some breathtaking miradors (lookouts)... the photos speak for them selves!
Hiking at altitude is utterly exhausting, but we loved every single day of it!
The Cordellia Huayhuash is by far the most beautiful trek we`ve done in South America to date.... we highly recomend it!
