Climbing in the rock forest of Hatun Machai... each of the boulders are actually 25 to 60m high, with amazing climbs, multi pitch and bouldering sites. they´ve put 120 sport climbs up 10 or so of the 150 rock faces. it´s an amazing place.
warming up on a 30m 6a+... they use the french system.

Back in Peru we spent a week in the beautiful fishing village of Huanchaco. Each morning we´d head down to the beach to buy fresh fish from the local fishermen coming in on their reed boats. We got to know one of them and he took me out for a paddle. The reed boast are so much fun! They´re designed so that you can catch the waves in to the beach.

We spent the week surfing, practicing our Spanish and writing some music together. We met some super fun Americans and a French couple (traveling with a violin), and spent many nights jamming.

We then headed up to the Peruvian Highlands to a town called Huaraz. They have some amazing rock climbing here, and some beautiful treks. We spent 4 days climbing amongst this ancient rock forest, and took several day treks to help us acclimatize…. Tomorrow we head off on the Huayhuash trek for 8 days.
