we found a restaurant with live music... 2 70yr old brothers playing together on a grand piano. they bought us champagne to celebrate our engagement, and even played us an Australian song... the theme track to Skippy!

Chris surfing some big wavesA sleepy costal town with massive surf for Chris and a Spanish school for me. We spent many afternoons watching the sunset over the ocean, enjoying the local seafood and hot ocean water baths by the sea.
After a week in Pichi we headded north through Chile, stopping briefly at a couple of surf towns, Iquique, Arica and Bahia Inglesia. We were lucky to catch a surf competition in Iquique. Then a few nights in the Atacama Desert, we rented a 4x4 and explored the desert lakes and sand dunes, saw hundreds of Vacuna´s (similar to llamas, but their fleace is 10 times softer).
