Pacha Mama sacrifices

awesome local bands in Purmamarca

We spent a few day`s in the big beautiful city of Salta, relaxing and recouperating... with good Argentinean steaks, wine, sun and soul.

we then headed slightly north to the mountain ranges beyond Salta. We especially loved the little town of Tilcara, the beautiful walks and Markets of handmade local goods (at which i bought up big time!). And we will always have a soft spot for Purmamarca, it`s valley of the 7 colours, and thirst for live entertainment. We met a fabulously fun group of girls from Buenos Aires (Ceci, Fer & Nat) and spent the night pub hopping, listening to live local bands. We were also fortunate enough to meet a group of locals celebrating the annual day of offerings to Mother Earth, Pachamama. We were invited to sacrifice food, wine and other earthly products in prayer, and participate in the local celebrations after the ceremony, super fun!

On our return to Salta, we met up with Mac and headed south.
